Honey is another product identified as potential Income Generating Activity for the communities. Faida MaLi has started some Interventions to support Same Bee Keepers Association (SABEA) in collaboration with other five Organizations that include VECO Same, ELCT Pare Diocese, SNV (The Netherlands Development Organization and Same District Council).

Other Interventions for Honey Product are organized for Tabora District in collaboration with other partners such as Traidcraft and Africare.

Faida MaLi together with KIT Royal Tropical Institute has conducted a feasibility study in Same District, to assess the possibilities of exporting dried ginger to the Netherlands as well as the local Markets.

Business students F. van Rijn and J. Ellenbroek were assigned to study the feasibility of setting up a pro-poor ginger chain in accordance with Unifine’s price and quality specifications under Faida MaLi partnership and supervision. This Value Chain has shown a potential to be developed in Same District. Faida MaLi and KIT act jointly as chain facilitators.

Faida MaLi in partnership with KAKUTE and Jatropha Products Tanzania Limited (JPTL) piloted Jatropha project in Monduli. Currently Faida MaLi is a Partner for the ongoing intervention of Jatropha that aims at assisting women on Alternative Resources for Income in Northern Tanzania. This is an ongoing project focused on the Technical and economic features of Jatropha-oil products, especially as bio-fuel for providing energy services to rural communities.
